Munsell Color System

The Munsell color system is a color space that specifies colors using three properties: hue, value (lightness), and chroma. It was created by Albert H. Munsell during the first decade of the twentieth century and was later adopted by the United States Department of Agriculture as its official color system for soil research in the 1930s.
