Triple Bar

Logic, Foundations and Set Theory

The triple bar, or tribar, written as three parallel horizontal lines, is a symbol with several context-dependent meanings that all indicate the equivalence of two different things, used mainly in mathematics and logic, and it has the appearance of an equals sign with a third line added. The symbol has the Unicode code point U+2261, and a separate Unicode code point, U+2262, represents its negated form, with LaTeX commands available to produce both versions in typeset mathematics.
