In mathematical knot theory, the Hopf link is the simplest nontrivial link made of more than one component, consisting of two circles linked together exactly once, and it is named after the mathematician Heinz Hopf. A concrete model places two circles of the same size in perpendicular planes so that each circle passes through the center of the other, a configuration that minimizes the link's ropelength, the shortest length of rope needed to tie it while keeping the rope's thickness fixed. Until 2002, the Hopf link was the only link whose exact ropelength value was known. Is Kind Of Object
Entity-backed identity for the object-kind enum value this mathematical object already carries, resolved to a mathematics concept by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The object-kind fact itself stays on the object unchanged.
