Kunneth Theorem

Topology

The Kunneth Theorem, also called the Kunneth formula, relates the homology of two topological spaces to the homology of their product space, expressing the homology of the product in terms of a construction built from the homology groups of the two factors, typically a tensor product together with a correction term supplied by homological algebra. Named for the German mathematician Hermann Kunneth, versions of the theorem hold across many different homology and cohomology theories, and the name has become a generic term for any such product formula.
