Abel's Identity

Analysis

Abel's identity is an equation, named after the Norwegian mathematician Niels Henrik Abel, that expresses the Wronskian of two solutions of a homogeneous second-order linear ordinary differential equation in terms of a coefficient taken from the equation itself. The relation generalizes to linear ordinary differential equations of any order.
