Gustave Choquet was a French mathematician who worked in functional analysis, potential theory, topology and measure theory. He was born in Solesmes near Valenciennes in the Nord on 1 March 1915 and died in Lyon on 14 November 2006. His theory of capacities and his integral representation of points in convex sets became tools across analysis, and the Choquet integral and the Choquet theory of extreme points are linked to his work in convexity and measure.
