The Cauchy product, named for the French mathematician Augustin-Louis Cauchy, is the discrete convolution of two infinite series in mathematical analysis, combining the coefficients of two series into a new series whose nth term is built from all the pairs of earlier terms in the original two series whose indices add up to n.
