Eugenio Elia Levi was an Italian mathematician, born on 18 October 1883 and died on 28 October 1917. He is known for his fundamental contributions in group theory, in the theory of partial differential operators and in the theory of functions of several complex variables. He was a younger brother of Beppo Levi and was killed in action during the First World War, at the age of thirty four, so his mathematical work was compressed into a career of little more than a decade.
